ABOUT ME
Welcome! Before diving into my portfolio, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kate Macchi (mac-ee) and not only am I an avid stained glass artist and film buff, but I’m also a digital media specialist.
As current Editor at Morning Brew and former Associate Distribution Producer at Business Insider, I am well versed working in fast-paced, collaborative environments. Among my expertise is navigating and executing communication strategies on both the web and across social platforms in order to reach target audiences, stimulate interest, and increase engagement.
For instance, I'm responsible for:
Helping to grow Morning Brew's flagship Instagram handle by 38%, its TikTok handle by 3912%, and its Twitter handle by 147% in under a year.
Morning Brew's largest month of impression growth on Instagram, with the flagship handle garnering 35M impressions in December 2022 alone.
Some of Business Insider's biggest TikTok hits, with one video in particular gaining over 3M views in its first 24 hours. It now has over 8M views and 2M likes.
Creating the highest-performing Twitter thread on the Insider News handle to date, gaining 41k likes, 22k retweets, and 4k quote tweets.
Optimizing CMS posts by using SEO best practices to increase site traffic and CTRs on the Business Insider landing pages.
But metrics and performance aren’t the only things that are important to me. It’s become a personal goal of mine to boost DEIB initiatives and accommodations wherever I work, whether it’s by adding alt text to every social asset or overlaying subtitles on all video content.
